Long black coats for men
A long black coat does a lot with very little effort. Over a suit it looks sharp, over a jumper and jeans it looks put together, and on a cold, wet morning it covers far more of you than a short jacket ever will.
Every coat on this page is cut to at least 44 inches, so it sits at or below the knee on most men. The wool coats are a 70% wool, 25% polyester, 5% cashmere blend, fully lined in satin. Prices are £150 to £160 with free tracked UK delivery.
How long is each coat?
The Double Breasted Long Overcoat is also full length. Lengths are measured from the back of the collar to the hem and can vary slightly by size.
44 or 46 inches?
If you are on the shorter side, or you want a coat that is easy to walk and drive in, the 44 inch coats are the safer bet. If you are tall, or you want maximum cover and that classic long silhouette, go for 46 inches. Either way the coat should cover your suit jacket completely. Wool or cotton?
For winter, wool. It holds warmth even when it is damp and it is what you want from November to March. The cotton trench is lighter and better for autumn, spring and rainy days when a wool coat would be too heavy. Read trench coat vs overcoat if you are stuck between the two.

Check our overcoat size guide before you order. UK delivery is free and tracked and usually takes 2 to 3 days, with next day delivery available if you order before 1pm. US orders ship free from our US warehouse in 5 to 7 days. You have 30 days to return a coat unworn with the tags on.

What counts as a long coat?
Most people mean a coat that reaches the knee or lower. For an average height man that is a coat of around 42 inches or more. All of ours are 44 to 46 inches.
Is a long coat practical for every day?
Yes, if it is the right length for your height. A 44 inch coat is easy to walk, sit and drive in. A 46 inch coat gives more cover but suits taller men best.
Will a long coat fit over a suit?
Yes. Our coats are cut to be worn over a suit jacket. If you are between sizes and always wear it over a suit, check the size guide and go for the larger chest.
