The traditional British trench coat is one of the most recognisable garments ever made, and this is its most faithful modern interpretation. Every detail of the original military specification is present: the 10-button double-breasted fastening, the D-ring belt, epaulettes, storm cuffs, gun flap, and wide peak lapels. Made from a premium water-resistant cotton outer with a classic checked lining, it performs in real British weather while looking exactly as a trench coat should. At 48 inches it's the longest coat in our range, dramatic, sweeping, and completely resolved.
The trench coat occupies a different place in a wardrobe to a wool overcoat. It moves differently, wears differently, and serves different occasions, bridging the gap between formal and casual in a way no other coat can. Over a suit heading to the office, over jeans on the weekend, over a dress at an evening event. This black version is the most versatile interpretation of the style. We want you to be completely happy with your Platinum Tailor coat. If for any reason you are not, we offer a straightforward 30-day returns policy on all orders — whether you'd like an exchange or a full refund.
What can be returned
Items are eligible for return if they are:
- Returned within 30 days of delivery
- Unworn and unused, in their original condition
- In their original packaging with all labels still attached
Items that have been worn, altered, or are missing original tags cannot be accepted for return.
How to return your order
- Download and print the returns form below. Complete it and include it inside your package.
- Repack the item carefully in its original packaging, ensuring all labels are attached.
- Ship the package to the appropriate return address below. Please note that return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, your refund will be processed within 7 working days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.

Exchanges
If you would like to exchange your coat for a different size or style, follow the same returns process above and indicate your preferred exchange item on the returns form. Exchanges are processed within 7 working days of receiving your return.

Very stylish trench coat, nice material seems to be well, but made time will tell. I believe it’s a Taylored fit so I needed to go up a size to what I usually wear, I usually take a size 40 but that was slightly too tight, so the size 42 fits perfectly. So maybe bare that in mind.
I would also add, this is the second coat I’ve purchased from iTaylor and I’m impressed with the style, quality and value for money.
