Men's trench coats
Our trench coat is the traditional British military design, with nothing left off. Ten button double breasted front, D-ring belt, epaulettes, storm cuffs, gun flap and wide peak lapels, in a water resistant cotton with a checked lining. At about 46 inches it is the longest coat we make.
A trench is lighter than a wool overcoat, so it is the coat for autumn, spring and the many wet days in between. It goes over a suit just as easily as over jeans and a jumper.

Why black?
Stone beige is the traditional trench colour, but black is more formal and far easier to wear. It works over a dark suit, in the evening and with casual clothes, and it does not show the dirt. If you want one trench that does everything, black is the one.
Trench coat or wool overcoat?
A trench is for rain and mild weather. A wool overcoat is for cold. In a British winter you will want wool from roughly November to March, and the trench either side of that. If you can only have one coat and you feel the cold, buy a wool overcoat first. Our guide to trench coat vs overcoat explains the difference properly.
Sizing, delivery and returns
The trench is a true to size, structured military cut. Check our size guide before you order. UK delivery is free and tracked and usually takes 2 to 3 days, with next day delivery if you order before 1pm. You have 30 days to return it unworn with the tags on.
Questions we get asked
Is the trench coat waterproof?
It is water resistant, not fully waterproof. It will keep you dry in normal British rain, but it is not made for standing in a downpour for hours.
Is a trench coat warm enough for winter?
Not on its own on the coldest days. Add a thick jumper underneath, or switch to a wool overcoat from November to March.
How do I clean it?
Dry clean only. That keeps the water resistant finish working and the coat holding its shape.
